BayMark Health Services Opens First Opioid Treatment Program in Ohio

Proven Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction Offers Hope Amidst Crisis

BayMark Health Services announced today the opening of MedMark Treatment Centers Columbus East, its first opioid treatment program (OTP) in Ohio offering comprehensive methadone and buprenorphine treatment and counseling services for adults. The clinic, located at 1805 E. Main Street, Columbus, is now accepting patients. MedMark Columbus East will provide medically-supervised, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), counseling and support services for those struggling with opioid use disorder.

“Almost every American has experienced the impact of the opioid crisis in some way, and unfortunately there is no place that statement is truer than in Ohio. The state, only second to West Virginia, experienced the loss of more than 5,000 lives to drug overdoses in 2017,” shared David K. White, Ph.D., CEO of BayMark Health Services. “MedMark brings hope and recovery options to Columbus and the surrounding area by improving access to proven, life-saving treatment services. This is our mission at BayMark and we are proud to be providing these services in Ohio.”

MedMark Treatment Centers are known across the country as providers of quality, patient-focused treatment for opioid use disorder. BayMark offers MAT services on an outpatient basis through MedMark, as well as inpatient withdrawal management in 6 hospitals across Ohio. The MedMark Columbus program will provide addiction education, relapse prevention, lab testing, coordinated care for pregnancy and linkages to community resources to assist patients on their path to recovery. The mission is to provide comprehensive medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder and other health care services to foster wellness, longevity and socially responsible behavior for the patients we serve.

Chief Operating Officer Frank Baumann added, “We are pleased to be bringing the MedMark treatment model to Ohio for the first time, and plan to open additional facilities serving the regions of Ohio most in need of help. Our medically-supervised treatment programs have given the opportunity for meaningful recovery to thousands of patients, and we have no doubt will offer the same hope across Ohio. Our medical, clinical and administrative staff offer compassionate, respectful treatment to individuals struggling with addiction.”
