BayMark Health Services Acquires Opioid Treatment Group in New Mexico

Recovery Services of New Mexico provides medication-assisted treatment to patients struggling with opioid use disorder.

BayMark Health Services announced the acquisition of Recovery Services of New Mexico (RSONM) this week. RSONM has three traditional Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP), one physician’s office based treatment program providing buprenorphine treatment and a fifth location inside of Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center providing opioid medication treatment services for incarcerated individuals. Providing medication-assisted treatment since 2003, Recovery Services of New Mexico has established themselves as a trusted provider of evidence-based treatment for opioid addiction throughout New Mexico. They will continue to operate under the Recovery Services of New Mexico brand and their dedicated clinical team will provide continuity of care to the patients they serve.

“Recovery Services of New Mexico was founded with the goal of treating opioid addiction through dedication to a patient-centered approach, strict adherence to proven treatment principles, ethical business conduct and community outreach,” stated Evan Baldwin, Chief Executive Officer at RSONM. “We have worked over the last 16 years to develop effective recovery programs for our patients and to innovate treatment for underserved populations such as those incarcerated through one of the nation’s first in-house opioid treatment programs in a state detention center. We feel confident that BayMark will support and enhance our mission while maintaining the highest levels of care for our patients and improving accessibility to life-saving treatment.”

BayMark Health Services is a leader in the opioid treatment industry operating more than 218 locations, offering various treatment methods for opioid addiction, across the country. Recovery Services of New Mexico provides outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction and dependency combining medications, such as methadone and buprenorphine, with addiction counseling and behavioral therapies.

David K. White, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of BayMark Health Services, added, “The need to innovate and improve accessibility to treatment for opioid use disorder grows as the effects of the opioid epidemic worsen across the country.  BayMark has over 50 years of cumulative experience in treating this disease and chooses to work with organizations who have established a foundation of quality care coupled with enhancement and expansion of services. The Bernalillo Detention Center program is an example of a service that BayMark plans to build upon to improve access to these important, life-saving services for others in similar facilities. The number of lives that can be improved by our partnership with Recovery Services of New Mexico is very promising.”

Recovery Services of New Mexico was represented by Mertz Taggart throughout the acquisition.
